Kellie Lapp
Executive Director

Kellie started her non-profit career right out of high school taking a position as Office Manager for a small non-profit. Kellie attended college in Oklahoma, married her college sweetheart and started a family.
Kellie joined Oregon Health Decisions in 1994 and began specializing in Advance Directive education. After helping Oregonians for more than ten years she knew the emphasis should not be on completing a form, but on creating a conversation. Simply completing an Advance Directive and “checking the boxes” was not enough. People were often times confused and left wanting more information. The focus for completing Advance Directives needed to change. Kellie believed people needed to start TALKING about their health care wishes first – before filling out the forms.
OHD’s Board of Directors committed to providing better education and tools. In 2005, OHD purchased the rights to develop a proven Advance Directive program for the state of Oregon. This allowed Kellie to pursue her passion developing and implementing the KEYConversations™ Advance Directive Program for the state of Oregon.
Kellie continues to focus on program development, operations and special projects. Working closely with staff and OHD’s Board of Directors, she strives to help Oregonians to better understand how to TALK about and DOCUMENT their health care decisions.
